Plague PANIC: Deadly plague spreads as man dies from new outbreak in US
PLAGUE concerns have been raised after a New Mexico man became the second fatal victim of the disease in the state this year.
https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1321217/china-plague-warning-new-mexico-plague-death-inner-mongolia-lockdown.
.
A man in his 20s from Rio Arriba County was hospitalised with the plague before he died.
Department of Health Secretary Kathy Kunkel said: "Plague activity in New Mexico is usually highest during the summer months,
so it is especially important now to take precautions to avoid rodents and their fleas which can expose you to plague.”
The plague is a bacterial disease that affects rodents, but it can be transmitted to humans either
by direct contact with infected animals or through the bite of an infected flea.
There is an antibiotic treatment for the disease, but if not identified on time,
the illness can turn severe and even lead to death, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

PLAGUE alerts in China have led officials to quarantine the village of Suji Xincun, Inner Mongolia,
commanding daily disinfection of homes after a resident died of the disease. Is the bubonic plague back in 2020
Bubonic plague cases have seemingly made a resurgence amidst the calamitous backdrop of 2020,
with several people now dead after contracting the ancient disease. The shutdown of Suji Xincun is
the latest measure taken by authorities in the vicinity of Mongolia, which has seen the bulk
of cases spread from contact with animals. The district of Damao Banner, in which the village resides,
is on a level three alert for plague prevention in hopes to stem the potential tide of infections,
caused by bites from bacteria-carrying fleas.
The bubonic plague spreads via fleas infected with the Yersinia Pestis bacteria, a known cause three types of the disease.
Most preventative measures against the disease have focussed on preventing close contact with animals which may carry it, as there is no cure.
.
Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Two people died of the bubonic plague in the Inner Mongolia autonomous
region of China in August, as authorities issued a third-level alert in the region and quarantined groups
of people who may have made contact with the patients.
The two new cases of the plague were reported in China on Aug. 2 and Thursday, in Baotou city and Bayan Nur city,
Urad Front Banner, respectively, China Central Television reported Monday.

A patient in northern China has died of the plague in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region - the second death from the disease in the last week.
The victim died from multiple organ failure in a case of the bubonic plague on Friday, the Bayannao'er city health commission said on its website.
This comes after China's Inner Mongolia region saw another death from the plague in Baotou last week,
leading the city to issue level-three epidemic warnings.
Following Friday's death in Bayannao'er, or Bayannur, the area where the deceased lived has been sealed off, the commission confirmed.

Bubonic plague is one of three types of plague caused by bacterium Yersinia pestis.
One to seven days after exposure to the bacteria, flu-like symptoms develop. These symptoms include fever,
headaches, and vomiting. Swollen and painful lymph nodes occur in the area closest to where the bacteria entered the skin.
Occasionally, the swollen lymph nodes may break open.
.
The three types of plague are the result of the route of infection: bubonic plague, septicemic plague, and

Medical condition
Plague is an acute, severe infectious disease caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis.
The bacterium is found in fleas and wild rodents such as rats, squirrels, chipmunks or prairie dogs.
The plague bacteria, Yersinia pestis, is transmitted to humans when they are bitten by fleas
that have previously fed on infected animals, such as:

Your Folder file : Fleas in Birds Nests Larva Poultry
The most common bird flea species is called Ceratophyllus gallinae, or the European chicken flea.
It thrives in dry, high-lying nests and can also form large populations in hen houses.
Bird flea larva can only develop in birds’ nests, where they feed on various organic materials.
The adult fleas suck blood of birds.
Fleas feed on a wide variety of warm-blooded vertebrates including humans, dogs, cats, rabbits, squirrels,
ferrets, rats, mice and birds. Fleas normally specialise in one host species or group of species,
but can often feed but not reproduce on other species. Ceratophyllus gallinaeaffects poultry as well as wild birds.
As well as the degree of relatedness of a potential host to the flea's original host,
it has been shown that avian fleas that exploit a range of hosts, only parasitise species with low immune responses
==============================================================================================
To prevent the plague:
Avoid sick or dead rodents and rabbits as well as their nests and burrows.
Prevent pets from roaming and hunting.
Talk to your veterinarian about using an appropriate flea control product on your pets.
Clean up areas near your home where rodents could live, such as woodpiles, brush and abandoned vehicles.
Have sick pets examined promptly by a veterinarian.
See your doctor about any unexplained illness involving a sudden and severe fever.
Move hay, wood and compost piles as far as possible from your home.
Don’t leave your pet’s food and water where rodents and wildlife can get to it.

Two turkeys in Victoria have tested positive to a second strain of bird flu.
Agriculture Victoria said the turkeys were at a property within the existing restricted area at Lethbridge, and another near Bairnsdale.
The farm at Lethbridge has been under movement restrictions and regular surveillance after cases of H7N7 avian influenza
were detected at two free-range egg farms in the Golden Plains Shire in the last fortnight.
The latest cases have tested positive to low pathogenic H5N2.
Low pathogenic avian influenza has a much lower effect on poultry than high pathogenic avian influenza,
but both affect chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, quail, pheasants and ostriches.
Many species of wild birds, including waterfowl and seabirds, can also carry the virus without any symptoms.

Wild water birds (like ducks and geese) can be infected with bird flu viruses, but usually do not get sick.
Infected birds have virus in their saliva, mucous and droppings (feces). Bird flu viruses spread easily between birds.
Some of these viruses can cause serious illness and death in domestic poultry (like chickens, ducks and turkeys).
